Description
NEREUS, originally built in 1969 by Feadship at the Royal Van Lent yard and designed by De Voogt Naval Architects, underwent a complete rebuild starting in 2014 and finishing in 2021. During this transformation, Nereus was taken down to her bare steel hull, and every system, wire, and piece of machinery was replaced with the most advanced technology available in the yachting industry. The project, which cost nearly 20 million dollars, is best appreciated through personal inspection to fully grasp its scope. Nereus has since been accepted into the Feadship Heritage Fleet.

Disclaimer
Nereus is a classic Feadship motor yacht measuring just over 31 meters, built in 1969 during a celebrated period for Dutch yacht craftsmanship. She features a full displacement steel hull with an aluminum superstructure, giving her strong seakeeping, stability, and structural longevity. Her elegant proportions, fine bow, and traditional teak decks express the timeless style associated with Feadship and De Voogt Naval Architects.
She is powered by twin Caterpillar 3196 diesel engines with roughly 660 horsepower each. This propulsion allows a top speed of about 14 knots and an efficient cruising speed near 11 to 12 knots. A beam of nearly 7 meters and an approximate draft of 2 meters provide a combination of stability, internal volume, and access to both open waters and sheltered anchorages.
Nereus underwent an extensive multi year rebuild that replaced nearly all mechanical, electrical, and navigation systems. The engine room, wiring, plumbing, and technical infrastructure were modernized to contemporary standards. Her engineering layout remains practical and service friendly, following the original Feadship philosophy of simplicity and durability.
Her displacement hull form contributes to comfort and efficiency on longer journeys. Tender handling is supported by cranes on the upper deck, allowing flexible use of the space for storage or guest enjoyment. Although thoroughly updated, Nereus retains her classic character and now offers a combination of historical pedigree, robust engineering, and modern reliability suitable for extended cruising and refined onboard living.
