Launch "Thetis"
The launch "Thetis" was built in 1975 with first-class craftsmanship using the best
materials by the renowned boatyard Bieritz. This launch is a unique piece
and there is no second example in the world. This replica of the cargo sailing vessel used about 120 years ago
is a largely faithful reproduction of this unique
type of ship, which was mainly based on the Pomeranian Baltic coast at that time. About the
construction of this classic launch was already reported in the magazine "Yacht" from the year 1974.
The shipyard that created this unique piece was one of the last wooden shipyards at the Elbe estuary at the time of construction.
It stands for absolutely high-quality wooden shipbuilding and the production
of ships with outstanding sailing characteristics. This unique piece impresses with classic
elegant lines and makes every sailor's heart beat faster.
From 2014, the ship underwent extensive and elaborate refits. It was
lifted annually by a shipyard specializing in woodwork to carry out necessary
maintenance measures. From 2014 to 2016, the onboard electronics and the
sail wardrobe were renewed. In the years from 2021 to 2024, the nail benches and various planks
were extensively renewed. In 2023, the battery charging technology, the batteries, and the
hot water boiler were also replaced. The complete underwater paint was also renewed in 2023.
This extraordinary ship has been owned by the current owner since 2013, who has
consistently provided the yacht with smaller refits with great attention to detail.
