Description
The X-442 is a modern, even futuristic design that is at the same time eminently practical. X-Yachts have incorporated the best in terms of design, production techniques, and equipment to ensure long-lasting comfort and performance. On deck, operation of the X-442 is simple and efficient. Easy access to the water from the bathing platform, beautifully laid teak decks, anchor equipment, sturdy genoa cars which are adjustable under load, and X-Yachts' own chainplate fittings equipped with SL turnbuckles are just a few of the details. X-Yacht's design team has attached great importance to producing a beautiful, timeless, and functional interior design. The headliner is intricately molded in white GRP and incorporates halogen lighting throughout. Curved timber moldings, carefully selected teak veneer, and top quality joinery work all typify the interior of the X-442. In the galley, all drawers run on ball bearing tracks, and equipment such as the stainless steel three-burner gas oven, tap fittings, door catches and pressure pumps are all of high quality. The owner's stateroom is equipped with two armchairs, vanity table and plenty of hanging locker space, as well as storage below the large double berth. All scantlings - from the laminate schedule of the hull and decks, to the dimensions and choice of materials for the rudder stock, keel bolts, and chainplates - are controlled and approved by the American Bureau of Shipping. The rudder stock is directly laminated to the rudder blade to produce an immensely strong structure. The whole rudder blade assembly is then supported by low friction roller bearings at both hull and deck for optimal feel and control. Keel, rig, and hull loads are translated directly to a massive 500-kilogram galvanized floor frame.
