Boat Details

Description

A solid, spacious and surprisingly easy-to-handle cruiser – ready for her next owners

Designed by the renowned Philippe Briand and built by Jeanneau in 2007, this Sun Odyssey 49 sits in a sweet spot: large enough to live aboard or cruise with family and friends in real comfort, yet still manageable for a couple. This particular boat, Anna T, is one of the earlier pre-financial-crisis examples – widely regarded by owners and brokers as more solidly constructed than many later production boats.

The model in brief

The Sun Odyssey 49 (LOA 14.98 m / 49’2″, beam 4.49–4.50 m, displacement approx. 12,600 kg) was launched as a modern performance cruiser. Key characteristics that owners and reviewers consistently praise:

• Balanced and predictable sailing characteristics with good tracking and a mild motion

• Strong performance both in light airs and when the wind picks up

• Easy short-handed sailing – twin wheels, lines led aft, and a cockpit layout that works well for two

• Generous volume below with multiple layout options (this boat has the popular 4-cabin version)

• CE Category A ocean-going certification

Typical tank capacities are around 240 litres of fuel and 700 litres of fresh water. Standard deep-keel draft is approximately 2.15 m. Reviewers have described the boat as “solid, predictable and fun to sail” with a positive helm feel, while owners frequently highlight how comfortable and capable she is on longer passages as well as coastal cruising.

This particular boat – Anna T

Anna T has spent most of her life in the Mediterranean (Turkey, Italy, Greece and Croatia), where she was used both in charter and extensively by her Swedish owners, a couple who have owned her since 2014 and clearly taken good care of her. She is now based on the island of Tjörn on Sweden’s west coast.

Layout

Four cabins, each with a double berth and its own private bathroom (toilet + shower). This makes her ideal for a family wanting real privacy, or for a group of friends/crew on longer trips – four couples can live aboard without sharing facilities.

Engine

Yanmar 75 hp diesel, installed new in 2017 and with just over 3,000 hours. Easy access for servicing and regularly maintained.

Sails & deck

• In-mast furling mainsail

• Roller-furling genoa

• Both sails are in good usable condition.

Electric anchor windlass, bimini, and navigation equipment complete the practical inventory.

Condition

Last hauled out in summer 2026. Full underwater inspection and rig inspection were carried out at that time. The boat is in good technical condition with a solid overall finish. There is some cosmetic wear from previous charter use, but it is purely superficial – the structure and systems are sound. She is ready for immediate takeover.

EU VAT has not been paid – an advantage if you plan extended cruising outside the EU.

Who is she for?

Families who want four proper ensuite cabins and space to spread out

Couples or small groups looking for a robust, comfortable boat that is still easy to handle short-handed

Anyone considering longer trips or a mix of private use and occasional charter

Anna T can be viewed and sea-trialled on Tjörn, Sweden. She is ready to sail.

Born and raised at sea, in traditional Norwegian boats. At 30 he sailed shorthanded from Norway to the Caribbean and back, with wife and small child, in a 32 foot sailboat. Only two persons on board on both Atlantic crossings. At 38 he founded his own company, with sales in the air treatment business. At 53 he sold the company to spend more time on the water. Is currently sailing a 1982 Nauticat 38 motorsailer, and spends a fortune on keeping that boat ship shape. Located part time in Telema
