Description
ASAP – Outremer 51 (2021)
Choosing an Outremer is never just about acquiring a simple boat. It is a sailing project, often long-term, that deserves support of the highest quality. Going through the Outremer shipyard's brokerage means entering into a continuity: that of precise technical follow-up, a well-managed history, and direct access to those who designed, built, and supported these boats across all the seas of the globe. It is also about making the choice of a fair, demanding perspective, deeply rooted in the actual use of these units.
For over thirty years, Outremer has established itself as a reference in the world of high-performance cruising catamarans. Designed for committed sailors, these boats prioritize lightness, simplicity, and reliability, with a single idea in mind: to enable sailing far, fast, and for a long time, safely. The 51, designed by the Barreau / Neuman firm, clearly fits into this lineage. A true culmination of the range, it offers a rare balance between performance, comfort, and ease of use, capable of covering miles consistently while remaining accessible with a reduced crew.
ASAP perfectly illustrates this philosophy. Launched in 2021, the 51 n.78 has had two owners, both deeply rooted in the Outremer universe. The first ensured its commissioning and the first miles. The second, an experienced sailor and already the owner of an Outremer 4X, took it on an Atlantic loop, confirming its potential and coherence in a demanding offshore program. Its story is that of a boat used as it should be: sailed, optimized, maintained with rigor, and always ready to set off again.
In its configuration, ASAP immediately stands out for a level of demand rarely achieved. The structure incorporates carbon elements – bulkheads, rotating mast, compression beam – combined with an optimized rigging with Kevlar stays, reflecting a constant pursuit of performance and weight control. This solid and refined base extends into a deck ergonomics designed for offshore sailing, with maneuvers facilitated by three electric winches, allowing for control and serenity, even with a reduced crew.
The interior, true to the DNA of the 51, prioritizes functionality and brightness, with layouts designed for life at sea: an additional berth in the starboard forward cabin, a modular saloon and cockpit, capable of adapting to sailing times as well as moments of life on board. Thermal comfort is ensured by a complete air conditioning and heating system, making the boat as pleasant in the tropics as in more challenging latitudes.
Autonomy, a central element of any Outremer project, is particularly well cared for here. The 1300 W of solar panels, combined with a 100 L/h watermaker, allow for long passages in total independence. The B&G electronics complete this set with reliable and high-performance instrumentation, serving precise and secure navigation.
Finally, the sail plan, entrusted to Incidence, reflects a desire to fully exploit the boat's potential: genoa, staysail, Code 0, Code D, spinnaker… a complete, coherent set, oriented towards performance in all conditions. With less than 500 engine hours, ASAP is today in a particularly low state of use considering its program.
Beyond the boat itself, acquiring ASAP means fully integrating into the Outremer universe: benefiting from the shipyard's support, its services, its technical expertise, but also joining a community of engaged owners, sharing a common vision of sailing. It also opens the door to the events that punctuate this life of ownership, notably the Outremer rally, a true gateway to the great departure.
ASAP is now available VAT included, with a possible lease takeover, visible at the shipyard. A refined, coherent boat, ready to write a new story, in the purest Outremer tradition.
