For rigidity and safety, the bulkheads are made of carbon and the lower parts of the hulls are reinforced with Kevlar.

For comfort, even in cold zones, a sliding door (a first on a TS42 at the time of its launch) and a Refleks diesel heater are installed.

For performance, a Lorima carbon mast, a complete set of Doyle performance sails and a Gottifredi Maffioli performance textile rig.

In the interests of autonomy, electric motors were chosen. With speeds of 5 to 7 knots under motor and a recharging capacity of up to 2 kW under sail, they offer unsuspected comfort and the possibility of doing without a generator.

With energy recovery and solar panels, SOMMERFUGL can theoretically sail ad infinitum, without ever needing to refuel.
